In the fall of 2002 I flew from San Francisco to Bangkok, where I spent 5 months wandering around and being an idiot. I spent time in Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos. The most worthwhile thing I did while there was help different groups of people build adobe buildings, giving me the chance to get off the tourist trail and into remote regions where I could have real interactions with the natives.
