Is this the front or back gate?
Stationed there from Jan 72 to Jan 74. I was assigned to HHB V Corp Artillery. I was in charge of the Officer's Club, NCO Club and the Stars & Stripes Club. I always used the back gate near the O'club just up the hill from the NCO club. It was a good job that gave me a lot of freedom. Never went to the field, always stayed back with the women and children. If I remember if you went out the front gate there was a narrow street that we called "Suicide Alley" If you drove down it when the street car was coming up you had to drive up on the sidewalk because there wasn't enough room. There was a restaurant on that narrow street called "Emil's Garten" Great Jager schnitzel ! Some of the best times of my life wer in Darmstadt.

Gate
It's the front gate. I used the back gate all the time when I worked at the 4th General Dispensary. I was with the 7th Evac Hospital. Our barracks were just opposite yours. I was stationed there from 1972 to 1974. Good times.
