Frescoes inside the Palace of Popes
The frescoes date back to the original building of the Palace. The restoration process has revealed the artist's original sketch and the painting that was done on tp of the sketch. Frescoes set quickly so the sketches were quite detailed. The frescoes you see are of a later alteration - the artist went later painted what was sketched in the original sketch. No flash photography is allowed near frescoes as the flash destroys the fresco. There is always, always one person who ignores the warnings.
