Wood beside the road

This was a frequent sight. The piles ranged in size and some would have a sled by it and perhaps a covered snowmobile. There would be a sign with a permit number on the wood. Apparently they can get a permit to cut wood. Then they have these piles by the road to let the wood dry. In Sept and Oct that is when the wood gets moved to their house. It seems that wood is frequently used for heating a homes.
