August 11 Today we explored New Town (with a great lunch stop at a local eatery) and climbed Carlton Hill, which is in Central Edinburgh and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can see much of Edinburgh including Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace. Up on the hill are a number of monuments, an observatory and The National Monument (which looks very Romanesque).
