As part of the Year of the Outback in 2002, Terri Underwood of Riverin Station coordinated a major funding drive for the sculpting of a larger-than-life-sized bronzed statue of a man on horseback. And not just any man, but one with the sharp skills of a stockman and the cultural background of his people -- Peter Sabu Sing, who died 10 years ago. His skills as a stockman and his determination to succeed in an era when the promotion of Aboriginal people was incredibly difficult, has been applauded.
