After Bangkok, I started my journey north by taking the train to Ayutthaya, the former capital of the kingdom of Siam. Only about an hour and a half from Bangkok I got there around noon, got ripped off by my tuk tuk driver again and checked into my private room at my hostel (my own bed, bath and a/c for only 9 dollars).
