At Dubai Creek in the early 20th century there were about 300 pearl diving dhows with over 7,000 sailors on board.They made very deep dives with only a nose clip. About 50 dives were made daily, each about 3 minutes long.

This was the last stop-over on our around-the-world trip 2009. We flew in from Zurich and arrived to the pre-booked Dhow Palace Hotel - a boutique hotel on Kuwait Street, Bur Dubai about 10pm.
