Finally, on the 24th of June our trip began. Day 1 was a big drive and we drove in rain the entire time. We stopped at a free camp site at Marlborough, just north of Rockhampton. We arrived at approx 6pm and set up in the rain. (not fun!). Thankfully it was an overnight stop so the set up was basic and quick, with the kids having noodles for dinner.
