NW corner of Moorea

Up towards the little islands in the top of the picture is where I went kiting. On my way down, the wind was howling on the mountain, and I could see kites in the air at that spot. I tried to hurry up to get over there, but by the time I made it, the wind had died.

Of all the things that my mother has 'instructed' me to do over the years, such as 'brush your teeth' 'comb your hair' 'wear a bicycle helmet', the one that reminded me of her today was the instruction 'don't go hiking alone'.
