Easy Life!

This elephant's only job is to appear at festivals. She has three "mahoots" to meet her every need. For travelling, she rides in the back of a truck with snacks available. We saw one going for a walk along a busy road with her mahoot. Food stands along the way gave her treats. She popped a watermelon into her mouth like it was candy.

On the Road to Kerala

I wasn’t looking forward to two days of heavy bus travel—but it was another great adventure. Our journey took us through Bandipur National Park. Animals are protected here.
