Back in KL for 1 night after my time on the Perhentian Islands. Unfortunately, no turtles. The beach we were to be based on with the nests was infested with red ants which eat the eggs so they had to be moved to the Government hatchery on the other island. Disappointing? - yes! The original plan was to just do 3 months volunteering to get some experience before I could start applying for jobs in conservation....and it just grew!! I have had to reel myself in a little and am now doing 'The World' in 2 halves, with possibly some other little excursions in between. The first half being Ghana, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia. More details later.
