August 29th 2011 From Kununurra we headed south west along Highway 1 to the Bungle Bungles. These are another heap of old Australian rocks that, this time, have eroded in a very unusual way. Because of a small lichen that attaches itself to some strata, the rocks have red and black horizontal stripes.
