05 June 2011 Today didn’t go quite as planned but held plenty of surprises! The sun had returned and we first went to an 18th century shrine in the hills 4k outside Bologna, Santuario di Madonna di San Luca. The sanctuary is impressive but the most interesting feature is the world’s longest portico which connects it to the city. It took us 30 minutes to walk down and 40 to get back up.
