The first 70 miles under our belt. Stayed in the New Flying Horse. Friendly locals & had an enjoyable evening. Route down was tough due to a strong headwind and the local constabulary in Redhill gave a friendly reminder not to jump red lights. The challenge The aim for the intrepid team is to cycle from Ashtead pond in Surrey to Lake Annecy in the French Alps, a distance of around 600 miles. The leaving date is Sunday 1st May 2011 and we hope to arrive on Wednesday 11th May, returning home by train (after some well earned beers) on Saturday 14th.
