Reunification Palace, Ho Chi Minh City
The Reunification Palace, as it becamse known after April 30, 1975, when a Russian-built tank penetrated the gates, subsequently ending the war. The original building, on the very same site, was constructed in 1868 as a palace for the governor-general of Indochina.
