I heard Saigon had more bikes than Hanoi, not sure if that was true. The city has bigger roads and a lot of traffic lights, so is easier to cross the road. Saigon is the biggest city in Vietnam, so probably does have more vehicles, but didn't have that chaotic cramped feeling Hanoi had.
