A day trip costs Pesos 1,250 (weekend/holiday rate) which includes buffet lunch, a museum tour, carabao rides, swimming and rafting. Not bad. That's less than US$30.
Villa Escudero: A Real Farmville September 10th 2010 It is a long weekend and we took the chance to visit Villa Escudero where a vast coconut plantation estate has been converted into a tourist destination south of Manila. Left Manila 6:30am and reached this hacienda well before 9am. A welcome drink of "gulaman" , a local drink made of diced gelatine and sugared water was most refreshing.

I love traveling because I always come back with less cobwebs in my mind. It is as if I empty my mind of all clutter upon departure, and fill it with many happy memories upon arrival. I also like the idea that life is so focused on the present, and my senses are all playing to listen, feel , see, smell and taste everything novel or not so new. The fact that I only have to choose from a limited wardrobe, or use the same pair of shoes throughout my holiday , or work and survive on a single budget make life so much simpler. ... full info
