Night tour of Rome

We walked around the Piazza for a few minutes watching some of the street performers then reassebled with the group for our bus tour of Rome by night. I probably snapped twenty pictures of the nightime illuminations from the bus but this is the only one that came close to coming out. This is the Victor Emmanuel Monument (Wedding Cake). Once our tour concluded we took the long ride back to our distant hotel. It felt great to return to my freezing cold suite.
Day Six (Thursday)

As if the regular Italian breakfast wasn't bad enough, our otherwise wonderful hotel didn't have a breakfast room that could accomodate our group. We had to walk two blocks to a tiny strip mall. The empty lots we passed were chock full of empty bottles, cardboard boxes, dog crap and waist high weeds.
