KASHGAR, PHOTO 9: Street scene in the "Ancient Town" of Kashgar

The Old Part of Kashgar is shrinking, and many of the ancient homes and structures are being replaced by more modern buildings. "Not so good for the tourists! Better for the locals, who look forward to more comfortable and more modern living conditions." But the flavor of this famous and ancient Silk Road City is vanishing quickly.
