Brasil sil sil July 30th 2006 Yesterday was Fred´s grand party. For the last 4 years, him and his girlfriend´s family have been putting on these cultural parties where everyone is to dress-up like they are from the country (plad shirt, straw hat, patched jeans), dance Forró and eat and drink lots of good food and beer/pinga.

Days before leaving to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on an IAESTE internship program a good friend of mine, Hugh, wrote in to Rex Murphy's Cross Country Check-up. He commented on the disagreement between the Prime Minister and the Ottawa Press Gallery using the word "circumlocutorily" (sound it out) to express the way Stephen Harper answered the press's questions. The word stumped Mr. Murphy, quoting "I'll have to get back to you on that one."
