Bahrain, the smallest of the Gulf States, is not much bigger than the Isle of Man, and like a lot of countries in the Gulf, oil has made this tiny island nation a rich country. Our Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Bahrain only lasted thirty minutes but was the emptiest airliner Angela and I had ever flown on. Almost every seat was deserted.
