before every bridge, no matter how tiny, you always get a sign announcing the weight limits, often they give you the length and altitude as well. The painting is a sign for an election campaign. Each party has a symbol which you find painted everywhere. And they even appear on the ballot papers.

In Cuzco, unsurprisingly, there is Inca stonework at every turn. Lots of the Inca foundations have Spanish colonial buildings built on top of them. My favourite is the Quorikancha - it was the main Inca temple.
