Heading towards Lhasa...

This was the view on the hour long ride from the airport to Lhasa...the Tibetan area of Lhasa is very small now and has Chinese military guards on every corner armed with a grenade launcher, shotguns, etc. The rest of Lhasa is all newly developed China and looks just like every other city here...

Gunkumsan! That is hello, in Tibetan...we have just spent a week in Lhasa and have much to write about - especially some amazing pictures. Jennifer and I have just finished traveling on a train from Lhasa to Chengdu, about 50 hours, and we now have internet access.
