After skillfully dropping my camera’s battery into the canal at dawn, I returned at dusk to take this photo. Note to self: Close battery door on camera before taking picture. The good thing I discovered was that Venice has at least 26 camera shops. There may be more, but the 26th had my battery in stock.

October 20th 2008 We recently took our first trip to Italy and spent a month touring from Rome to Florence and all the way North to Venice. While in Florence we rented an apartment for three weeks and walked or took public transportation everywhere we went.
