Most of these trees are almost 1000 years old!! Apparently the grow up for the first hundred years and then in circumference from there. Madagascar has something like 7 of the 8 species of this tree

Well, I'm back in Calgary but thought I better write an entry for my time in Madagascar... The landscapes, flora and fauna of Madagascar really are out of a fairy tale land.
