Most people come to Hervey Bay to get to Fraser Island - but not me! I leave for Fraser from the much closer Rainbow Beach in a few days - weather permitting. I'm staying in Torquay - one of four towns which make up Hervey Bay. It's a strange but pleasant mix of cafe's and restaurants broken up by the odd grocers or fishmongers.
