The Plague

There were lots of shops that sold these beautiful masks...I heard doctors use to wear the ones with the long beaks during the Plague and would fill them herbs in hopes of protecting themselves from the Plague which killed 1/3 of Europe and recurred in Italy every July for the next 2 centuries!

Well I finally ventured outside the walls of Vicenza and took my first trip to Venezia (Venice). Awesome! I woke up at 7:30 to catch the 8:30 train. The station is a bout a 10min walk.
