On top of Mt. Victoria overlooking Wellington stood this red statue. There are similar statues all over the city from the Maori people to protect the land from their enemies. They all point to the south which is the port of the city.
Hike through Abel Tasman National Park May 29th 2008 Michelle and I crossed Cook Straight to the South Island via the InterIslander Ferry (a day later than expected - there was so much to see on the North Island).
