Loud on the way to Laos

Im in a minibus with 8 others on the way to the Laos border in the north of the country. Our final destination is Luang Prabang but we have a 6 hour bus ride on the first day, followed by a 2 hour ride in the morning and a 5 hour slow boat up the mekong river.
