After spending Christmas in Hokitika, a small quiet town, I travelled with Kevin and Gerd down the west coast with Wanaka as my destination. Many people all over New Zealand have told me nothing but good things about Wanaka. It was always described to me as, beautiful like Queenstown with less crowds, tourists and also cheaper. Welcome to my blog, which I wrote during my around the world trip from September 2007 to August 2008. After graduating from college, I worked for a year and saved. This along with the money I made from working in New Zealand got me through a year of traveling. My initial travel plans were just for New Zealand, but after hearing so many stories about where others have been and also just catching a bit of a travel bug I decided to make stops in South East Asia, Nepal and South America as well.
