Friday, September 28th, 2007. Allagash River, Maine. Darrin awoke around dawn and was instantly relieved to acknowledge the fact that both his tent and body were still in one piece. He groggily unzipped the tent fly to find moose number 14, a cow moose, IN his campsite. Darrin L. Kimbler solo thru-paddled the 740-mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT), an historic water trail through the forests of New York, Vermont, Quebec, New Hampshire, and Maine. His journey was completed over 50 days, from August 12 - October 1, 2007. The water trail was officially established in September 2006; and Darrin was one of the first fifteen people to complete a thru-paddle.
