The only bit of island that isnt completely barren

As exotic as the Galapagos islands sound, since they were formed from volcanic eruption, the landscape is mostly quite crap to look at. In fact early sailors called it a hell on earth, because of the desolate landscape and creepy looking reptiles that lived there.

...is what the Footprint Guidebook to South America says about the Galapagos Islands, and I have to admit it was prettttteee sweet. At certain times the islands didnt meet our lofty expectations. For instance I didnt see 3 hammerhead sharks 5 metres away, while a sealion chewed on my flippers. But maybe I´m being a tad too fussy.
