A 6:30am alarm call to ensure that we caught the 8am bus service to Cusco. However, when we reached the bus station we were greeted by the news that a bus strike was on! So it was back to the hotel to await further developments. Evidently the two direct routes to Cusco had been blocked by the locals protesting about polution of the rivers.
