Turtle Power, Dream Time Cultural Centre, Rockhampton

The natives of the Torres Island Straits used turtle shells as shields. This and several other Aboriginal facts were gleened from the informative yet sadly dated Dream Time Cultural Centre. Unfortunately, due to the adverse weather conditions the Boomerang throwing was cancelled, but our excellent guide was a wizard with a didgeridoo and a bit of a lung busting session from the hollow stick maestro soon put the smiles back on our Aboriginal loving faces. Another fact for you: didgeridoo's are hollowed out by termites. Blimey.
