This morning we decided to go to the summer palace, which is another China site impressive in size. The empress who had the a lot of the place originally built (before the fire) really threw a lot of the empire's money away by doing so. I just finished my PhD in Immunology at the University of Minnesota. During the past 5 years I didn't travel as I had in the previous years. I was on a different explorative journey, at the lab bench. It was a tough and absolutely formative experience, which made it very difficult to leave when all was said and done.
