North Island (it's a bit long this one, but I think you'll like it) April 20th 2007 Bright Lights, BIG City Arriving in Auckland we got a shock at what it is like to be in a big city again. The rest of New Zealand is pretty laid back and peaceful including Christchurch. Auckland instantly hits you as being completely different with a totally different pace of life.
