Rock from the volcano Tungurahua

This rock was hurled out in the violent eruption of Tungurahua (5,023m)on August 16th, 2006. That eruption has been the most violent since the beginning of activity in 1999, and was accompanied by a 10km high ash cloud which spread over the area The lava flow resulted in 5 deaths and destroyed several hamlets and roads on its´ western and northwestern slopes.

Ecuador Travels Baños, Hot Springs On Easter Sunday I took the bus to Banos. I´ve never seen more hotels/hostals on each block in any town.
