la tour Eiffel

Built by Gustave Eiffel for the centenary of the French Revolution in 1889, the very tall tower(320.75 m,7000 tons) has been selected as one of the finalists for the seven new wonders of the world competition. I'm wondering what would those French writers -who opposed its construction- will say now?
