Lake Norman Scenery

Lake Norman is the largest body of freshwater in North Carolina. Created between 1959 and 1964 by Duke Energy as part of the Cowans Ford Dam. There is 520 miles of shoreline and a surface area of more than 50 square miles and the average depth is 33.5 feet.

We spent a few days at wonderful friends camped on their driveway. It was great to catch up. They took us out on Lake Norman in their boat with friends we both know from Columbus. Mike was also introduced to pickleball. He was feeling it the next day. Lois was able to have dinner with a dear friend that lives in Charlotte while we were there as well.
