Merchants' Houses

Merchant's Houses on the northeast side of Poznań Market Square (Stary Rynek). Most date to the 15th or 16 centuries but received new façades in the 17th and 18th centuries. Rebuilt after 1945. The Market Square was laid out in the 14th century for stalls. DSC_0101

Monika, our Collette tour courier, hastened the group along as we prepared to leave Wrocław for Torruń. We would be stopping for lunch at Poznań, but we must make haste getting there and arrive before noon. She would not say why. En route we made a hurried rest stop at a travel plaza near Lipnow.
