Casemates Barracks

Casemates Barracks on the south side of the Royal Naval Dockyard. Built in 1839-1843 of concrete, brick and limestone. The building housed 120 Royal Marines. Used as the Bermuda prison from 1951 to 1995. DSC_0547

Carnival Legend called at Bermuda for a day and a half. The morning before departure allowed for a stroll around the Royal Navel Dockyard. (Some passengers opted for a half day at the beach.)
