Wawel Cathedral
Katedra Wawelska - Wawel Cathedral. Formally, Cathedral Basilica of St. Stanislaus and St. Wenceslas (Bazylika archikatedralna św. Stanisława i św. Wacława). The Polish national cathedral and former coronation site of Polish monarchs. Construction of the current cathedral began in the 14th century.
Historic Centre of Kraków. UNESCO World Heritage site inscribed in 1978.
"The Gothic Cathedral, or Schlosskirche, on the W. side, founded in 1320 on the site of an earlier Romanesque church of which only the crypt remains, and consecrated in 1359 under Casimir the Great, is the burial-place of the Polish kings and heroes".--Baedeker 1900. DSC_0450
