Stroumboulas to charakterystyczna stożkowata góra doskonale widoczna na zachód od Heraklionu. Nazwę tę nadali jej Wenecjanie z powodu podobieństwa do włoskiego wulkanu Stromboli. Na szczycie góry znajduje się malutka kapliczka oraz pozostałości niemieckich, powojennych umocnień. Przede wszystkim jednak ze szczytu rozciąga się przewspaniały widok na połowę Krety.
