Cool with rain - 65F
Today is our last full sea day on the way to Mexico. Today we're out the door by 9am to check out the Future Cruise Consultant. Until now, her office has either been closed or very busy. This morning we walk right in, sign up for a future cruise to Mexico next November and then get our breakfast. It's sprinkling outside, a light rain covers the decks and chases those brave enough to be out in lounge chairs back inside. Not many are outside anyway. In fact, long pants and sweaters are slowly replacing the shorts and tank tops worn previously by guests.
I follow Karen as she peruses the stores and floor sales, just looking. She gets herself another green tea with pomegranate for herself and a free hot chocolate for me and we sit in the Crooner's Bar, people watching for a while. With a couple more blogs complete, we return to the room where I send those out and she starts packing one of the suitcases. She's getting antsy about getting back home.
Later we visit the Lido pool area and try out the burger bar. We share a cheeseburger
with fries while watching the movie, "Now You See Me 2" for a few minutes. Even with the complimentary blankets, it's chilly outside so we retreat to seats inside the Lido where I continue finishing yesterdays blog and start today's. Along comes our Scottish friends from Canada on their way somewhere and they join us for an hour of conversation. At 5pm, we break it off so we can all prepare for dinner tonight. It's our last formal night so we all need a little extra time and we’re running late.
Tonight is lobster and prawns for Mom. I have the Beef Wellington. Both are delicious. We sit with three other couples, one from St. Louis, one from Southern California and the other from parts unknown. We discuss our excursions. They were stuck in the buses running late a few nights ago after the auto accident. We have a nice visit but it’s 20 minutes to show time so we all excuse ourselves and head to the Princess Theater where tonight it’s a song and dance presentations, “British Invasion”. Unfortunately, it’s full. We’re too late. To salvage the evening, we make way to the Explorer’s Lounge to see “The
Desperados”. Turns out, these are the same “Three Amigos” that played for the “Dia de los Muertos” festival in the Atrium a few days earlier. They’re not all that but we have nothing else to do. Next it’s to the Atrium area to listen to Mosaic play for a half an hour, then back to the Princess Theater to see the show. Again the show is full but we find a space in the back to stand. This turns out to be excellent strategy since we find the dance and singing to be not to our liking and make an easy exit. Off we go to the Lido for some cookies and milk to take back to our room for consumption. Tomorrow is Mexico for a few hours.
