There is no need to get up early today as we have nothing planned until 11.00am.
After a light breakfast, we headed to the cavern club on deck 6. We are attending a meet and greet and gift exchange organised by members of Cruise Critic. This is the first one of these that we have done, so not sure what to expect.
For those that were participating in the gift exchange, they ask that you bring a gift relevant to where you live and had given a price of about $10. We had bought several items for our gift.
Norwegian as normal had laid on a small buffet of drinks and cakes for us all which was unexpected but delightful as always.
Many of key heads of departments were present and were happy to answer all questions posed to them. The hotel director was leading and we both remembered him from our last transatlantic on the Epic. He is a French man with immense character and an interesting deep sense of humour. His favourite intro: He explains he is from France, like Norwegian Epic but he lives in Greece for tax evasion purposes. Make of that what
you will!
Following this, they did a mini raffle for those that had participated in the gift exchange. The owner of the first number picked our bag of goodies and was very happy with it. The interesting bag we picked came from someone from Tucson, Arizona.
One English man had slightly misunderstood the guidelines of the gift exchange, and had brought what amounted to 5 gifts, so at the end there were 4 gifts left over. He got to choose 4 lucky people to receive these gifts, including a teenage boy who was there with his parent, and was the recipient of a dart board.
We are already looking forward to this meeting on the next cruise. We have a bag the same as this time. We are looking forward to seeing what we receive in return.
We continued the day spending a couple of hours up on posh deck. George got a good seat in the sun whilst Theresa sat in the shade and got to know the barman and some of the other passengers a little better. Norwegian Epic is running at full capacity with 4500 passengers and 2000 staff. We are so very
glad we managed to get these passes for this elite private bathing area.
This evening, we have an invite to the Captains cocktail party. All guests that reached Silver status or above get an invite. This is taking place in the Bliss over 18’s area on deck 7.
The captain and all his top men / ladies are all present and get to introduce themselves and what they do. It is always a clever insight into how this floating hotel factory functions properly. We notice that some people get all dressed up as if this were a real cocktail party, whereas most people were in more relaxed wear.
Afterwards, we went to the Buffet for dinner and then spent the rest of the evening in the casino.

Day 11
Nice relaxing day with George enjoying the sun and Theresa introducing herself to both staff and guests. Fruit carvings looks lovely as does the towel elephant. Lady seems to look pleased with your choices for her present.
