After three weeks and four cities, I'm headed back to Guinea. Of course there are a few speed bumps and pit stops along the way. When I got to the airport, they told me I was two days late for my flight and out of luck. As person after person failed to find me in the system, I calculated all the money I had on me (even in Guinean Francs) and wondered if it would be enough to buy another ticket. I was fully prepared to bargain for a lower price. Fortunately, before I could use my African market skills on an international airline, they figured out why I had showed up two days later than originally scheduled (my connecting flight to Conakry had been cancelled. Apparently Guinea doesn't merit two flights a week anymore.) The guy in charge said I only had to pay $300. I must have looked like I was about to cry, because he quickly said he was only kidding and then checked me in himself. He escorted me through all the hoops and made sure they didn't charge me for luggage even though I'm pretty sure it weighed as much as me. (Yes, I weigh more

than 80 lbs.)

I'm on the plane now in the middle of the ocean. 10:30 EST, but 2:30 AM in Casablanca. Because of my last minute seat selection, I was given prime seating across from the bathroom. Always a good time. Get to meet lots of people, you know? However, again, I got lucky and no one was assigned to sit next to me so I was able to move two more feet away from the bathroom. And with that, I should be off to bed. In five hours I have to catch a train to Rabat. Wish me luck!
