We had a lazy start to the day as we have nothing to rush for over the next few days.
The clocks went back an hour last night so we are getting closer to the US east coast time zone which is five hours behind UK time.
We cleared a few admin tasks. We have had to change the schedule for our proposed UK visit to and wanted to make sure everyone involved was happy with the proposed changes.
We also did a little bit of work towards the trip we are organising to Maho Beach when we arrive in St Maarten. We are really not sure how many people will be joining us, but we may find out in the morning as we have asked everyone to pop by and say hello. Around twenty people have asked to join us. This is a trip to visit the planes coming in low over Maho beach. We really do enjoy going there to do this as many of you will know already. This is our private trip to this venue and not a boat organised trip. We are planning to use the local buses and taxi service for the
touristic experience. This is something we like doing and are passionate about.
After this, we had a little photographic fun with our mascot – Nellie. Nellie had a little trip around Cagney's steak restaurant, was helping with the cash register then clearing the tables and finally, she got to have a good look at the wine store. Nellie said she likes Cagney's but would like to have a look at another restaurant, so we will have to work way around the others for her.
Watch this space to see where she appears tomorrow.
We had lunch as normal in the buffet. As you can guess, we like the vast selection of food in there.
Our washing laundry order was returned to our cabin this afternoon. After hanging it all up, Nellie decided that the empty basket, with a towel, would make a perfect bed for her. Unfortunately, the cabin steward wanted the box back, so Nellie reverted back to sleeping in the bag we had for her.
We all had a relaxing afternoon which included some travel blog writing, and Nellie spent some time relaxing in the sun on our balcony.
Dinner is back
at the buffet again tonight.
In the evening, we had a quick stop in the casino so Theresa could play her favourite tipping point game. As usual, she did not win anything.
Whilst there, we met up with an English lady that we have seen a couple of times during the cruise. She is sadly struggling with the big C and is wheelchair bound. One of her bucket list items is to do the adult bits of Disney, so she is travelling on her own to tick this off. Not quite sure how she is going to manage this. We are also passionate about helping people with Cancer as Theresa lost her mum and dad to this.
She has very limited mobility, so asked if we would help her with some items from the next two ports of calls – St Maarten and St Thomas. The cruise line gives out booklets of vouchers for the different ports, and for these two, there are many free gifts included. She wants to have something to take back for her Grandchildren, so asked if we would collect some of the free gift. We are happy to help.
