Queenstown- Nevis Bungy
The jump platform being suspended 134 metres off the ground Leaving our cool hostel in Manapouri and arriving two hours later in a dump of a hostel in Queenstown was a bit disappointing, we had to change rooms after an hour because the bed broke twice (and we weren't even getting up to any mischief!). When we went to the information to see what we wanted to do Matty booked himself onto the Nevis Bungy jump 134m from a suspended platform in the middle of a massive gorge. The following day we headed to Arrowtown to a Lord of the Rings location, it sort of looked like it. Nibby got a new thumb ring in Arrowtown. Not just any old thumb ring but The One Ring (if this does not make sense to you, then you should watch The Lord of the rings, great films). During the evening we had a quality piss up with John who we met down on the Catlins and lots of his flatmates.
Waking with a slight hangover this morning and then realising my bungy jump is only a couple of hours away, I tried hard to shake off the headache with only some success. Signed on to Skype and with great luck Scotty was

The view from the jump site online and we got to share with Scott & Nicci some of her first contractions it was wonderful for us to share that moment. Next stop BUNGY!! When we arrived at the jump site it looked enormous. The jump was a real rush, and surprisingly a real smooth ride, camera lady Nibby was as scared if not more than Matty and she only had to watch. The adrenaline was flowing after the jump so much so that before Nibby could blink Matty had booked and paid to go jump again, this time instead of a swan dive jump, Matty went for a bullet dive with arms behind and push off the platform towards the floor rather than jumping up. It meant more acceleration and more speed. Great!! What was weird was Matty was more nervous on his second jump than the first. Once we were back in town Nibby got herself a new coat, and then we met up with a fellow bungy jumper and his partner for possibly the biggest and best burgers we have ever eaten “Furg Burgers”.
In the early hours of Tuesday 31st March (midday for us) we welcomed the latest member of the Bailey

Don't... look...down! Oh sorry, that's Oblivion isn't it! family Daisy Freya Bailey weighing in at 8Ibs congratulations Scotty & Nicci.
After receiving news of Daisy we headed to town for our Canyoning trip, Canyoning involves Zip Wires, Abseiling, sliding down waterfalls and lots of jumps into a river in the middle of a canyon. It was really good fun, Nibz overcame her fears with a 6m jump! Matty was practising his back flips and front flips from the 6m jump but screwed up the 8m front flip landing on his face, (Ouch) managing to break the strap on his helmet.
On our way out of Queenstown we stopped at our friend John's house for coffee, he had the best view of the lake Nibby got several pictures before we departed for Wanaka, we found a great campsite with real cheap cabins to stay in. The afternoon's activity was Puzzleworld, there was a great maze in which you had to find all four corners before finding the exit we decided to race, Matty won in an impressive 25 minutes. After the maze there were all sorts of puzzles to be completed and they entertained us for another hour or so before we went into the World of

Matty getting hooked up to the bungy looking rather anxious Illusions, where there were lots of holograms, funny pictures and a cool house which made you look massive at one end and tiny at the other. See video.
Got more great weather the following day and headed to Diamond Lake and the Rocky Mountain for day tramp (walk) once we were at the top we had great views of the surrounding mountains and could see the snow clad Mount Aspiring in the distance. Later we took a stroll from the campsite around part of Lake Wanaka, Nibby brought along her bubbles which made for fun photos.
Our final day in Wanaka was more walking around a different part of the lake and then Nibby decided she needed some exercise so ran back to the car, Matty did not mind it meant he did not have to walk as far. We didn't do much else other than chores like the washing. Oh and Nibby has got hooked on the Poker game on her Playstation.
