A great place to start our tour of NZ!
It's taking a fair bit of time to keep this going day by day, so I'm going to try and do it by place/date of arrival.

We got a flight from Sydney to Christchurch and then on to Queenstown. The initial flight was different as the VP of the US' visit meant there were airspace restrictions around Sydney.

The views of NZ were amazing on the plane and the short journey to our hostel was breath-taking and the views got better and better!!!

The hostel was fine and we wandered into the town with amazing mountains and the lake Wakatipu as a backdrop.

Over the next few days we:
* saw an Irish folk band while basking in the early evening shade
* Did a high speed Jetboat ride on the Shotover River (Pretty thrilling) - the 360 degree turns made us remember our fish & chip lunch!
* Paul did a Bungy Jump at the site of the original AJ Hackett commercial jump (43m off a bridge!)
* Hired a Tandem bike to go around the lake - possibly more scary than the bungy!! There are certainly more bruises from that than any of the other

oh and Sars...
activities!
* Took a Gondola (cable car) up to the top of the mountain for some fantastic views of Queenstown and beyond
* Raced each other on the 'Luge' (high speed go-karts-cum-sledge) - Sarah won (obviously!!)
